       Halladay’s Diamond Rider lesson program offers A  co-operative, encouraging atmosphere that focuses on safety and personal excellence.  Whether you are a complete beginner or a mature experienced rider, Halladay’s has something to offer everyone.  Our mission is to keep learning….and so we’ve coined the tag line…”Where learning and fun become one!”.  Ours is an individual program that helps you set achievable goals for a positive learning experience.

       The “mature” Diamond Rider will find a friendly and casual approach.  We appreciate that your time is precious! This is the time to live your dream!  Learning, recreation, exercise, friendship and fun….you can have it all!

       For the recreational rider we focus on building horsemanship skills through riding lessons, theory classes, youth and adult camps and Equine Canada Rider testing.  Whether you enjoy hacking down the trail or riding in the ring, our focus will be on improving your riding, improving your horse and finding fun ways to spend time together! 

       For competitors, we offer both group and private lessons in whatever your discipline.  Horse showing opportunities are available on and off the property and include club shows for English and western,  primary and trillium hunter and dressage shows, AQHA Quarter horse shows and Ontario Horse trials.  Our program includes frequent guest instructors and clinicians.  We work closely with some of the industries top trainers in several disciplines. 

Some of our program highlights include:
  • lessons offered in both English and western seats
  • Horse show leasing/part boarding opportunities
  • In barn horse shows in the spring and fall
  • Equine Canada rider level testing
    Monthly workshops with a wide variety of horsemanship and stable management topics
  • Social days….just for hanging with your barn peeps!

    Individual lesson—$40
   
Monthly lesson package—$120
   
Semester lesson package —
    (12 weeks) - $350


All lesson packages must be paid in advance on the first lesson of the month.

Melanie's Bio
Melanie began her riding career at the club show level at Rocky Hills Horse Club in Bancroft, Ontario.  Her passion for the Quarter horse developed quickly and she moved on to showing registered horses at the provincial level.  With many provincial hi point and championship titles to her credit, Melanie was selected to represent Ontario at the All American Quarter Horse Congress Youth Team Tournament in Columbus Ohio.  In 1991 Melanie qualified for the AQHA Youth World Championship show in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she competed in 5 events.
 Melanie is a graduate of University of Guelph  (Bsc (Agr)) and also of Montana State University Horseshoeing School (1996).  Since finishing university, her focus has been on achieving coaching credentials and establishing the Halladay’s riding school.  Her coaching credentials include Equine Canada Coach 1 English and Western as well as Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association Instructor (CTRAI).   
Her training and showing experience includes many disciplines including dressage, eventing and hunters. Currently Melanie is getting “back to her roots” and showing on the Quarter Horse Circuit while her daughter Cassidy shows her pony on the Trillium Hunter Circuit.  The Cressman family also has registered Clydesdales and can boast numerous wins and championships including twice winning the prestigious Royal Winter Fair in Toronto.
